About our founder…
Young Giants was founded by qualified teacher and trainer, Jaime Johnson.
Qualifying to teach in 2005, Jaime has worked as classroom teacher and private tutor for over 10 years. During her career she has undertaken positions in primary schools, international schools and colleges of further and higher education.
Jaime is also a qualified trainer and has delivered teacher training to education staff both in the UK and internationally. She founded Young Giants in 2016 after having her first child and now works in a supportive role, mentoring her tutors and providing educational advice to parents and young students.
Jaime strongly believes in the holistic development of the child and trains all of her tutors in methods of student-centred teaching. Placing a child’s strengths, interests and ambitions at the heart of their learning, the approach develops the child’s confidence and independence within education.
Please read through our literature for more information on our ethos, methods and values, or feel free to call Jaime for a chat.

“Sam has responded incredibly well to Emily’s lessons and his grasp of basic reading and writing skills has improved. He seems to really enjoy the lesson time and even when he is tired or grumpy he comes out of their sessions smiling. She manages to pitch the level perfectly to hold his interest and imagination – quite a challenge with a teenage boy!
Emily is extremely conscientious and is always willing to go the extra mile. She designs sessions that target particular weaknesses and also supplies homework tasks that she often writes and produces herself, bespoke for Sam.
Sam likes her sessions because she makes the learning process fun and stimulating and we have seen his self-esteem and confidence improve since he has worked with her. I would have no problem recommending her to any other parent requiring similar support for their child.”
