Experienced in supporting children and young people with a range of SEND, including SEMH and complex needs, we offer educational support from QTS, SEND trained teachers for both primary and secondary, as well as support from SEND experienced tutors.

One-to-one and small group tuition and academic mentoring delivered by a range of educational professionals including QTS teachers, experienced tutors, TA’s and learning mentors. Our team of qualified teachers work with the student to build a bespoke package of educational support.

All of our tuition includes an element of academic mentoring focussed on supporting children and young people to reflect on their relationship with education and build ambition for their own future.

Young Giants is a student-centred, teacher-led tutoring service providing bespoke and flexible education packages for children in need of supplementary or alternative provision from KS1-5.

We are an approved and quality assured education provider for local authority boroughs in London and beyond, undergoing annual QMET inspections.

Managed by a team of qualified teachers, we support children and young people with a range of SEND (including complex needs/PMLD), neurodiversity, SEMH, those missing education and those at risk of exclusion.

Based on the needs of the child, our support takes the form of 1:1 (or 2:1) tuition in homes, schools or venues within the community. Where possible and safe to do so, we afford the opportunity for peer interaction amongst our students with a focus on school transitions.

Placing a strong focus on removing barriers to learning, our tuition incorporates the right amount of academic mentoring for the development of a Growth Mindset, positive behaviour for learning, academic confidence and personal ambition within the child.

We are an approved ASDAN centre, offering a range of ‘preparation for adulthoodpathway courses and qualifications up to Level 2, including ‘Employability’, ‘Personal and Social Development’ and ‘My Aspirations’. These courses are suitable for a wide range of learners including those with PMLD. This year we also become an approved Arts Award centre and are proud to now be offering Arts Awards Bronze and Silver. These awards, courses and qualifications have a significant impact on the academic confidence of our learners, supporting them to re-engage with education as a whole.

At Young Giants, our central aim is to support children and young people to re-engage with education or training so they can feel a genuine sense of inclusion within society.

Keeping Children Included

How We Work...

  • 01

Young Giants receives a referral from LA or other education agency and accepts this referral in principle, subject to sufficient & up-to-date information.

  • 02

Young Giants reviews information and gathers further feedback from relevant parties known to the child.

  • 03

Young Giants carries out a risk assessment for home/school/community tuition or mentoring.

  • 04

Young Giants team of qualified teachers plan a package of support to best meet the educational needs of the child (including costs) and submits this to the original referrer.

  • 05

Once approved, Young Giants commences with the package of support, providing regular progress updates to relevant parties.

More than tuition…

Rather than simply providing a tutor and stopping there, we consider ourselves a strong part of the team responsible for the educational progress and attainment of every one of our students.

Managed by a close team of qualified teachers, we work together to build bespoke packages of education support that best meet the needs of the child.

Commissioners, parents/carers and students can expect us to:

  • Personally oversee each educational package
  • Organise collaborative working amongst educators where an individual student is supported by more than one tutor
  • Attend TAC meetings
  • Book exams for those young people who cannot be on a school roll
  • Support educators in their roles and share best practice
  • Respond to changing needs in the student by re-organising the emphasis of an education package
